WABASH,Indiana — Wabash County Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce that a homeowner has paid off her mortgage in full.  When Pam Rowe of North Manchester partnered with Habitat, she and her seven-year-old son, Zachery, were living in a small 1 ½ bedroom garage apartment.  Their rent payment was only a little less than Pam’s mortgage payment with Habitat.   After twenty years of hard work and consistent payments, she now owns her home, free and clear of any debt.

There will be a small ice cream party and mortgage burning ceremony to celebrate Pam’s achievement.  It will be at Habitat’s new construction site located at 490 Ferry Street at 4.30 pm on Saturday, June 25.  Come out and congratulate Pam on her accomplishment!

The annual playhouse raffle is off to a great start.  Volunteers built a playhouse that will be raffled off on September 23rd.   Many have seen the playhouse in the first two parades of the year!  It will be parked outside of local businesses that have sponsored the playhouse as well as in front of the Habitat office on Manchester Avenue.  You may call the Habitat office for more information and to buy tickets.

Another application cycle for next year will open in September 2016.  Please check WCHFH’s Facebook page for more information.

Wabash County Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical Christian ministry that welcomes all people dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty and substandard housing worldwide. We build or renovate simple, decent affordable housing for people in need, who purchase the homes through a no profit, 0% interest mortgage. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are recycled into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
