PERU, IN– Dukes Memorial Hospital is hosting a free All-About-Baby Fair for new and expectant parents on Saturday, May 4 from 9:00 a.m. until noon in the lobby at Dukes Memorial Hospital, 275 W. 12th Street, Peru. Attendees should enter through the main entrance.
The event features community education, activities for children, tours of the Birthplace, refreshments and area health organizations serving community members including the United Way of Miami County, Healthy Families – Area Five, Nurse-Family Partnership, Miami County Health Department and others. Learn about prenatal care, car seat safety, breastfeeding, infant safe sleep and more. Clinical staff and physicians will be on hand to answer questions. Providers who will be in attendance include:
- Neil Stalker, M.D. – Pediatrician
- Takunda Mugwisi, M.D. – Ob/Gyn
- Heidi Abbott, C.N.M. – Certified Nurse Midwife
Attendees can register their newborn for a free book program through United Way of Miami County’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. Blood pressure and finger stick glucose (blood sugar) tests will be available for free.
