WABASH COUNTY,Indiana – Spring Clean-up Week runs May 2nd through the 7th in the city of Wabash and April 25th through the 30th in the town of North Manchester. The week begins a little later this year, especially in Wabash. Wabash City Street Department Foreman Tyler Niccum said that the reason for the later start in Wabash is scheduling of city workers. The time of the pick-up is on the same day as trash pick-up in a particular area of the city. Pick-up will begin as early as 7 am. Only piles under 4-foot tall and 8-foot wide will be picked up. No hazardous waste will be picked up and instead must be taken to the Solid Waste Management District on Manchester Avenue in Wabash. This includes old TVs, paint, tries, appliances, chemicals and prescription drugs.

Niccum added that drop off dumpsters will be located at the Wabash Wastewater Treatment Plant, which can be accessed off the corner of Carroll and Fulton Streets all week beginning on May 2nd.

Niccum Also advised that the Wabash Street Department will begin paving work on Alber Street starting soon. This follows extensive work done by gas, water and utility companies over the last few months. The street department will complete pavement, Niccum said, in September or October. The pavement on Columbus Street has also been put off until next year. The new pavement on Smith, Carroll and Cass Streets will only begin after the Headworks Improvement Project is completed in the next month.

The Wabash County Solid Waste Management District will be at the North Manchester Street Department on Saturday, May 7th from 8 am until 1 pm. Workers will also take hazardous waste at their normal location on Manchester Avenue in Wabash on Saturday, May 14th from 8 am until 1 pm.
