Ralph Taylor

Ralph R. Taylor, 88, of Warren, IN, formerly of Jackson Twp., Wells Co., passed away at 2:45 AM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Heritage Pointe in Warren.  He was born on Saturday, July 30, 1927, in Pulaski Co., IN.  He married Florence M.  Taylor on Friday, September 12, 1952.  Ralph was a 1946 graduate of Fairmount High School, where he was a 3 sport athlete. He excelled in basketball, where he obtained the nickname “Moose.” Ralph served in the United States Navy from 1950-1952. He was a member of the Van Buren Masonic Lodge #711, the Scottish Rite and Shriners both of Ft. Wayne, and the American Legion Post #313 of Fairmount. Ralph was a lifetime owner/operator of Taylor Brothers Plastering Company.  He enjoyed all the activities that Heritage Pointe had to offer, especially golf, playing pool, dominoes, euchre and Wii bowling. He was a member of the Oak Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Marion.

 

Survivors include: Son – Bill (Dianna) Banter, Warren, IN, Daughter – Jan (Dr. George) Babcock, Bluffton, IN, Son – Robey Taylor, St. Louis, MO, Brother – Paul E. Taylor, Upland, IN, Grandson – Will (Kristi) Banter, Warren, IN, Grandson – Brent Banter, Austin, TX, Grandson – Tim (Julie) Babcock, Bluffton, IN, Granddaughter – Lisa (Bryan) Dailey, Sarasota, FL, Granddaughter – Meg Taylor, Seattle, WA, Grandson – Brandon (Erin) Taylor, Charleston, SC and 8 Great Grandsons.

 

He was preceded in death by his: Father – Charles L. Taylor, Mother – Melva (Tilleston) Taylor, Wife – Florence M. Taylor, Sisters-Alberta Taylor and Virginia Pauline Rye, Daughter-in-law-Anita Taylor and Brother-Roy Taylor.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel 801 Huntington Ave. Warren on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Masonic Service will be held at 8:00PM.

 

A service to celebrate Ralph’s life will be at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2016; viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.  Chaplain Ginny Soultz will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Estates of Serenity in Marion.
