Kathleen A. (Vaught) Richwine, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion, Ind. Kathleen was born on November 22, 1925 in Burnt Prairie, IL, to Orville and Cecile (Gray) Vaught. After graduating from Anderson High School, Kathleen went on to get her Nursing Degree from Ball State University. She then worked for Marion General Hospital as an RN and then at the Marion VA Hospital until she retired in 1989. Kathleen married the love of her life, Joe Keith Richwine, Sr. on August 9, 1946, at the Anderson Baptist Church in Anderson, Ind. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2011.

Kathleen was a member of the United Methodist Church of Van Buren prior to becoming a member of Grace Community Church in Marion. She loved reading and was even involved in a book club. Kathleen enjoyed knitting and sewing, but she also enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband. Her favorite sports team was the Indiana University basketball team.

Kathleen is survived by two sons, Joe K. (Nancy) Richwine, Jr., Marion, IN, and Rock (Astrid) Richwine, Van Buren, IN; two daughters, Beth (Steve) Foy, Upland, IN, and Lynne (Mark) Hummel, Marion, IN; and 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Cecille Vaught, husband Joe Richwine, Sr., brother Charles Vaught, sister Betty Vaught, and grandsons, Jeff Richwine and James Mark Hummel, Jr.

There will be a service honoring Kathleen’s life on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, with Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. A public visitation will be held before the service from 9:00 -11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service in Van Buren Cemetery.
