MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – AcesPLUS Health Strategists, in partnership with Miami County YMCA and newly formed More for Miami substance abuse prevention Coalition, proudly present the inaugural Miami county Easter parade on Sunday, April 16, from 2 to 5 PM. It will be on the Courthouse Square located at 25 N. Broadway. This parade is unlike anything else in Indiana on Easter holiday weekend. There will be performances from bands and singers, people wearing handmade Easter bonnets and colorful Easter outfits, sweet and savory foods, art displays, games for the entire family, competitions, prizes, and gift baskets will round out the afternoon. Aside from the celebration is the kick off of the More for Miami movement, a substance abuse prevention campaign to raise awareness and provide education about healthier living. In the spirit of fellowship and renewal, organizations supporting substance abuse prevention and treatment, health and wellness, will help launch a county-wide challenge to reduce dependency and addiction. This is the kind of parade where the parade goers are the parade, no floats this time; instead, it’s about greeting old friends and meeting new ones.
