Robert D. Curtis, 75 of Marion, Indiana died Tuesday January 9, 2018 at Jay County Hospital, Portland, Indiana. Bob was born June 9, 1942 at Marion, Indiana to the late Merrill and Anne Louise (Adamson) Curtis. February 29, 1964 he married Ruthann Smithson at Jonesboro, Indiana and she survives. Bob was a Navy veteran and an avid knife collector, he also enjoyed doing genealogy in his spare time. Bob retired from Packaging Corporation of American, Gas City, Indiana, (formerly Owens-Illinois), where he was Dye Mounter.
Survivors include his wife; sons; Travis (Bradi) Curtis, Indianapolis, and Justin Curtis, Marion, Indiana Brother; Jerry Curtis, Marion, Indiana and Sister-in-law; Rose Curtis, Gas City, Indiana Step-brother; Tom Harris, Florida, Step-Sister; Shirley Harris-Miller, Gas City, Indiana Sister-in-law; Linda (Arlen Hasty) Smithson, Fairmount, Indiana
Grandchidren; Wesley, Victoria, and Jet Curtis
Nieces; Alicia Curtis, and Glenda (Chuck) Rowe, Kim Curtis, Merilyn (Nate) Just, and Marsha McIntyre. Gina (Jeff) Sulivan, Christy (Mike) Chinn, Becky Curtis, and Wendi (Ben Cole) Burks. Nephew; Jeremy Curtis
Great-niece and nephew; Maggie and Doak. Noah, Ethan, and Logan Burks.
He was preceded in death by brothers; Roy and Gene Curtis and a niece Maryann Curtis, sister-in-law, Jennifer Curtis.
At Bob’s request a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
