Johnathan Junior McDaniel (J.J.), 32, of Huntington, IN, passed away on March 25, 2017, at 7:58 a.m. in Huntington.
Johnathan was born on December 29, 1984, in Huntington, IN, to Mike Jay and Tammy S. McDaniel. Both parents survive and live in Huntington, IN.

J.J. graduated from Huntington North High School in 2003 and attended Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne, IN. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Huntington, IN. Johnathan did seasonal work with asphalt. He was very passionate and dedicated to his work, often working from sun up to sun down. J.J. Loved drinking coffee and enjoying good food, especially when surrounded by good company. He loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine, and gardening with his grandmother. He was always acting silly and making jokes. He considered many of his friends his family. He was a big guy with a good heart. He always found the bright side of things and chose to always have a positive attitude. He especially enjoyed spending time with his niece, Jayhla; and he shared an unbreakable bond with her and his grandmother, Simmie; who was patiently waiting to accompany him on his next journey. He was always on the go and always on a mission to find the light of life.

Along with his parents he is survived by four sisters, Alysia Smith, Nicole (David) Swoverland, Jerrie Douglas, Sophie Jay, all of Huntington, IN; two brothers, Bobby McDaniel, Zander Jay, both of Huntington, IN; three nephews and one niece.

J. J. is now reunited in heaven with his maternal grandmother, Simmie, his nephew, Keegan, his Aunt Norma and Uncle Junior.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1805 Salamonie Avenue, Huntington, IN.

Funeral Services will follow the calling hours at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1805 Salamonie Avenue, Huntington, IN.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Johnathan McDaniel Family to help defray costs in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
