Zelma Marcella Burton

Zelma Marcella Burton, 80, born in Owen County, IN, on November 12, 1938, passed away in her Marion home at 10:35 a.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019.  She was the daughter of Charles Fulk and Mary Louise (Lintz) Ellis.

On October 19, 1960, Zelma married her husband, Goebel Burton, and they shared nearly 40 years together before he passed away on January 1, 2000.  She was an inspector at Fisher Body for 33 years until her retirement in 2006.  She attended Lighthouse Baptist and loved watching Shepherd’s Chapel with Pastor Arnold Murray whenever she was unable to go to church.  She also enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Days of Our Lives.  Shopping was one of her favorite things to do but, most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Mike) Turner, Marion; sons: Ricky Burton, Marion, and Allen (Kirsten) Burton, Peru; son-in-law, A.C. Norton; grandchildren: Travis Norton, Chenelle (Chris Gabbard) Norton, Tara Turner, Ricky Burton Jr., Stephen Burton, Mark Burton, Austin Burton, Amanda (Scott) Renaud, Aliza Burton, Allen Burton Jr., Haley Burton, and Katlyn Burton; great-grandchildren: Logan, Caleb, Brooklyn, Braxton, J.J., Alanna, Braylon, Alia, Brantley, Alizae, and Gabriella; and brother, Bobby Ellis, Indianapolis.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara Norton, and sisters, Francis Pennington and Geneva Nall.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019, Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Zelma’s funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
