John A. Hendricks, 78, of Hartford City, IN, passed away at 2:20 PM on Monday, January 21, 2019 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. He was born on Sunday, December 15, 1940, in Blackford County, IN. He married Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Gordon on Wednesday, November 29, 1961 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Hartford City, IN.. John was a 1958 graduate of Hartford City High School. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hartford City, IN. He retired from General Motors after 37 1/2 years of service. John enjoyed his vehicles, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family. He loved attending his grandkids sporting events.
He will be sadly missed by his Wife – Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Hendricks, Hartford City, IN, Sons – John (Bree) Hendricks, Metairie, LA, Jay Hendricks, Montpelier, IN, Grandsons – Tanner Hendricks, Tryse Hendricks, and Great Grandson – Leighton Hendricks.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Robert H. Hendricks, Mother – Genella (Maddux) Hendricks, Brother – Robert Hendricks, and Sister – Betty Cain.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to service on Friday, January 25, 2019.
A service to celebrate John’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 with Pastor David Fleener officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
