Point-In-Time Count for Miami County – Wednesday, January 23rd

MIAMI COUNTY, IN- A reminder that the Point-In-Time count for Miami County is being conducted today, January 23rd. Every January, the Indiana Housing Community Development Authority (IHCDA) conducts a count of homeless persons throughout the state. The purpose of the count is to understand the scope and characteristics of people sleeping in places unfit for human habitation. The information is essential for appropriating funding for Miami County to help improve the lives individuals that experience homelessness. Free care packages for the homeless will be distributed at Manna on Main Street, located at 12 N. Miami St. in Peru, from 10 am to 2 pm and at Helping Hands, located at 176 N. Broadway, from 9 am to 1 pm. If you are homeless please come get a care package today full of supplies, such as blankets, toiletry items, hats, gloves and more. Surveys are confidential and voluntary.
