Zack T. Buckler, Jr., 88, Marion, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Rolling Meadows Health & Rehabilitation Center in LaFontaine. He was born in Platte City, Missouri, on November 13, 1933, to Zack and Virginia (Lowden) Buckler.
Zack was a member of the Moose Lodge and UAW. He worked at General Motors for 25.5 years, retiring in 1993. He loved playing guitar, singing, and country music. His love of music and art will be passed down for generations. Zack enjoyed knife making, wood carving, and fishing. He loved cooking and baking for friends and family, and he was known for his peanut butter fudge and brittle. Zack was recently a born-again Christian; he rededicated his life two years ago.
Survivors include his children, Dennis (Jane) Buckler of FL, Rebecca (Mike) Mark of Marion, Cynthia (Mike) Eller of FL, and Vicki (Gary) Bovie of TX; grandchildren, Dennis Buckler, II, of FL, Janalyn (Michael) Barmes, Kevin (Holly) Mark of Carmel, Jennifer Mark of Marion, Benjamin Norton of Kokomo, Michelle (Jason) Goodrich of FL, Kristin McWhirt of Carmel, Bethany Sikes of Carmel, Porshia (Raygan) Chantharojwong of TX, and Brandan (Jessica) Bovie of TX; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and brother, Joe Buckler of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Mary Buckler; daughter, Rhonda (Chris) McWhirt; sisters, Bonnie Brubaker and Gloria (Dean) Fones; granddaughter, Cher (Ron) Davis; and mother of his five children, Carol Harmon Cole.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Zack’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mark Hummel officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
