Paul T. Sargent, age 75, of Marion, entered into the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marion, Indiana. Paul was born on January 26, 1947, in Morgan County, Kentucky, to William P. Sargent and Zola J. Erwin.
A long-time resident of Grant County, Paul retired from the General Motors Marion Stamping Plant. He was also previously employed at Delco Electronics Corporation in Kokomo. Paul was an avid sports fan and loved cheering for the Chicago Cubs, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, and several Indiana colleges. He attended Eastview Wesleyan Church in Gas City.
Paul was a talented guitarist, who enjoyed playing Country and Western, as well as Bluegrass music. He was always quick with a joke or pun and liked to make people laugh. More than anything, Paul loved his family with his whole heart and will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his son, Andrew Sargent of Gas City; granddaughter, Shelby Sargent of Indianapolis; sister, Judi (Bruce) Harvey of Jonesboro; brother, Rick Sargent of Gas City; brother, Lynn (Lisa) Sargent of Des Moines, IA; step-son, Jon Hawkins of Marion; four nephews; and two nieces.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by three unborn grandchildren; grandparents, William and Lottie Collins; and step-father, John W. Erwin.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Paul’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial will take place in Gardens of Memory in Marion.
