William “Bill” Zerbe, 65, Gas City, passed away at home at 11:34 am on Saturday, May 21, 2022. He was born in Wyandotte, Michigan, on Friday, October 12, 1956, to William and June (Gerring) Zerbe. On September 7, 1979, he married Arliss Colcleasure and she survives.
Bill graduated from Big Rapids High School then served in the United States Army until 1980. He worked in Industrial Maintenance at T I Automotive. He was a mechanic who willingly shared his talents with friends and family. He enjoyed carpentry work and built the addition on his house. He had a faithful dog, “Pudgie” whom he enjoyed and spoiled. Bill enjoyed life and was avid at whatever he decided to do.
Survivors include his mother, June Zerbe; wife, Arliss Zerbe of Gas City; children, Clay (Jessica) Zerbe of Gas City, Jennifer Zerbe of Gas City, Bill (Desiree) Carlson of WA; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Dennis Zerbe of OH, John (Cynthie) Zerbe of MI, Cathy Zerbe of MI, and Pamela (Tony) Bennett of Uniondale, IN.
He was preceded in death by father, William Zerbe; brothers, Roy Zerbe, and Robert Zerbe.
The family will receive visitors from 9 am to 10 am on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Bill’s life will begin at 10 am with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
