WABASH,Indiana – Starting this week, a bit of a celebrity will be walking the halls of Wabash High School until graduation on May 29th. But this celebrity isn’t visiting the school for a convocation. She’ll be roaming the senior hallway because she’s actually still a student. We told you back in March and again just last week about 17-year-old Wabash High School Senior Alexis Paige Rose trying out for the Indianapolis Colts Cheerleading squad. The lengthy audition process culminated with a showcase Sunday night at the Circle Theatre in Indy. And . . . she made it! Alexis Paige Rose is one of 26 Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders for the 2016 season!

MiBash News had a bit of a hunch she might make it after she told us last week that the auditions have gone well. In March, she said that the Colts have never before picked a cheerleader so young before. Not only is Rose and her family huge fans of the team, she also mentioned that being an Indy Colts Cheerleader was her life-long dream. And she is not even 18 yet.

In a statement to MiBash News, Wabash City Schools Superintendent Jason Callahan said that he is actually not surprised she made the team, noting that she is a “very talented [person] and a classy young lady.”

Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders are not permitted to give out their last names so long as they are on the team. So let MiBash News join the chorus by saying congratulations to Alexis R for becoming an Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader for the 2016 season!
