WABASH COUNTY,Indiana – A sex offender wanted in Wells County on a probation violation was found in Wabash County Wednesday evening. Craig Heckman was taken into custody at a residence at 500 South in Wabash County, according to Wabash County Sheriff Detective Sergeant Mike Davis. Wells County Chief Deputy Sheriff Scott Holiday told MiBash News that Wells County Probation probably informed the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department that Heckman could be at the location in Wabash County.
On arrival at the house on 500 South, officers took Heckman into custody and, according to Davis, drove him to the Huntington County line where a Huntington County Sheriff’s vehicle took Heckman to the Wells county line where he was booked into the Wells County Jail on April 6th. According to Chief Deputy Holiday, Heckman was charged with Operating While Intoxicated in 2015 and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in 2012.
