Wayne “Bud” Willett

Wayne “Bud” Willett, age 85, of Huntington, formerly of Ossian, went into the hands of his Lord on Sunday September 9, 2018 following a brief but fierce battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Faith Community Church of God, 3615 North Norwood Road, Huntington, Indiana with Rev. Scott Pattison officiating. A celebration of life will immediately follow at the church from 3 – 5 p.m. Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Faith Community Church of God for the building fund, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Bud was born on May 1, 1933 in Arkansas, the son of Ralph and Thelma (Hughes) Willett, whom are predeceased. They moved to Indiana, and he married Phyllis Chalmers on February 7, 1986. For 47 years, Bud was a dedicated employee at Toolcraft, Inc. until his retirement in 2001. He was a former Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge in Bluffton and a former Worthy Patron in the Order of the Eastern Star; he was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley and Mizpah Shriner’s Temple in Fort Wayne. He enjoyed watching all types of sports, but his passion was playing golf.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, a daughter, Teresa, a son Perry, and stepdaughters Judy and Barb. Also surviving are siblings Travis and Morris Willett, Bea Davis, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a vast extended family and uncountable friends.
