Graveside services and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County with Pastor Chris Hayden officiating.
Preferred memorials are to Central Christian Church or Lutheran Hospital Heart Center, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.
Catherine was born on June 24, 1931 in Huntington, the daughter of Homer and Leila (Getz) Carl. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1949 and married Max E. Miller that year in Huntington; he preceded her in death on February 3, 1980. She married John Stayner in 1982 in Arizona and he preceded her in death in 2001. She worked at Wabash Magnetics, retiring after 20 years of service. Catherine was a life member of Central Christian Church in Huntington.
Survivors include sons Robert (Michelle Ph.D.) Miller of Huntington, Michael L. (Cindy) Miller of Spring Arbor, Michigan, and Gary W. (Kathy) Miller of Andrews, a daughter, Deborah M. Scher of Fort Wayne, a sister, Janice Eller of Mentone, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, brothers Homer Carl Jr. and J.C. Carl, and sisters Phyllis Zigler and Thais Wilhelm.
