Von I. Henry, 55, Marion, passed away in Marion General Hospital at 7:04 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. He was born in Marion on November 1, 1962, and was the son of Wilber E. and Elizabeth June (Carl) Henry.
Von was a lifelong resident of Grant County who was a self-employed mechanic. Work was his hobby, especially working on old cars. He always loved going to car shows and attending the First Fridays in Marion during the summer. Von rang the bell for the Salvation Army and attended the Adventist Church and Sweetser Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his fiancée, Linda Yeager, Marion; step-brothers, Daniel L. (Maggie) Minnick, Sr., Anderson, and Oscar Wayne (Debra) Medaris, Marion; step-sister, Roberta (Keith) Kern, Marion; nephew, Daniel (Celeste) Minnick, Jr., Anderson; several other nieces and nephews; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Milford, Gilbert, Junior, and Keith Henry, as well as his step-mother, Loriena Henry.
The family will receive visitors from 1 to 2 p.m. with Von’s funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Grant Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.
