Victoria Jean Wood

Victoria Jean Wood, 81, Gas City, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was born in Garrard, Kentucky, on April 30, 1939, to Silas and Lila (Gray) Hensley. On May 13, 1966, she married Jerry Wood and he survives.

Victoria was a member of Westside Assembly of God, First Assembly of God, and most recently, Lighthouse Assembly of God.

She attended Fairmount High School and worked at RCA for 18 years where she met the love of her life, Jerry. She also worked as a florist in Grant County for several years, including at Cunninghams. Her love of family was only surpassed by her love for Jesus. She was very artistic; she and her daughters enjoyed coloring and painting. She loved landscaping, gardening, and flowers. She was very involved in her church. She taught all age ranges from nursery to adults. She was very active in the Missionettes and loved singing in her church choir.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Wood of Gas City; daughters, Cheryl (Doug) Marley of Greenwood, Paula (Jerry) Gallaway of Upland; grandchildren, Malcolm Kalugyer, Rachel (Tony) Beaman, Tyler (Elizabeth) Gallaway; and great-grandchildren, Emma Beaman and Nathan Beaman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas C. and Lila Hensley.

The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Lighthouse Assembly of God, 5909 S. Jay St., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Victoria’s life will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Jefferson Cemetery.
