Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest in Laketon

LAKETON, Ind. – On May 9th at approximately 11:00 p.m., Deputy Mat Galligan initiated a traffic stop in Laketon.  After further investigation, a K-9 unit was requested.  Deputy Matt Cox arrived on scene with Oscar, one of the Department’s new K-9’s.   After a free air deployment, a positive alert was made on the vehicle, and a search of the vehicle took place.  Drug paraphernalia, syringes, marijuana, and an assortment of pills were located during the search.  The driver, Kimberley j. Watkins; age: 31, North Manchester, was arrested and incarcerated in the Wabash County Jail on preliminary charges of Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Scheduled Controlled Substance, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
