Tracy Jean Hecox, 60, Swayzee, passed away at 2:45 am on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Sunday, July 16, 1961, to Rex and Clara (Tomlinson) Chism. On June 9, 1979, she married John Hecox, and he survives.
Tracy graduated from Madison-Grant High School in 1979 and went on to receive her associate’s degree from Indiana Business College. She worked as a Medical Coding Specialist for over ten years at Parkview Hospital.
Tracy’s “happy place” was CoCoJo’s Campground. She loved her campground family and loved driving through visiting all the campsites. She enjoyed fishing, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was faithful to attend any sporting events and dancing recitals of her grandkids.
In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her parents; son, Josh (Brooke) Hecox of Wabash; daughter, Ashley (Wade) Tully of North Manchester; granddaughters, Teraka Tully and Madison Hecox; grandson, Ryan Tully; brother, Greg (Kathy) Chism of Pierceton; and mother-in-law, Madonna Hecox of Swayzee.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Hugh Hecox, and her brother-in-law, Tom Hecox.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Tracy’s life will begin at 2:00 pm. Pastor Will Douglas will be officiating.
