Kenneth R. "Kenny" Hiatt

Kenneth R. “Kenny” Hiatt, 62, of Marion, passed away at 1:38 pm on Monday, January 24, 2022, in his home. He was born in Marion on February 22, 1959, to Robert and Rita (Stremplewski) Hiatt. He married Gayla Patterson, and she survives.

Kenny had worked at Swingsets, Prime Products, and Dunham’s Sporting Goods. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and disc golf. He was an avid Colts fan. Kenny was a practical and hard-working man who loved spending time with his family when he had the chance.

In addition to his wife, Gayla Patterson Hiatt, survivors include his sons, Robert Hiatt of Huntington, Zachary Frieszell of Marion, and Ryan Wiggins of Marion; daughter, Anna (Lonnie) Upshaw of Marion; grandsons, Tyler Wilson, Austin Hiatt, Lonnie Upshaw Jr., Chase Upshaw, Caleb Upshaw, Zachary Hanthorn, Iszac Hanthorn, Peyton Zech, Zayne Frieszell, Rylan Moon, Grayson Moon, Gavin Moon, and Logan Moon; granddaughters, Audrey Hiatt, Nevaeh Smoot, Christina Upshaw, McKenzie Deathridge, Haiden VanNess, Rylie Moon, Allyson Stepp, and Kiersten Wiggins; sisters, Mary Maples, Rebecca Hiatt, Janet Hiatt, and Laura Hiatt; plus several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Kenneth, and Rita Marie Hiatt; son, Jason Moon; grandsons, Kenneth Robert Hiatt and Ryder Moon; granddaughter, Valerie A. Wiggins; sister, Katherine Barber; brother, Anthony P. Hiatt; and his dogs, Tayo and Max.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Needham Storey Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St. in Gas City, IN 46933.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Kenny’s life will begin at 4 pm with Pastor Delmar Fenwick officiating.
