Tony Edward Gillenwater, 61, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 10:44 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his residence in Montpelier, IN. He was born on Saturday, September 21, 1957, in Blackford County, IN. He married Sheila D. (Hummer) Gillenwater on Saturday, April 10, 1993 in Pennville, IN. Tony was a 1976 graduate of Blackford High School. He furthered his education in Chicago, IL. He attended the Grace Baptist church in Montpelier while growing up. He worked at Sheller Globe, Montpelier, and Simpsons, Bluffton, IN. Tony was a member of the Masonic Lodge #600. He enjoyed going camping, loved spending time with family and his grandchildren. He loved his M&M’s and Mt. Dew.
He will be sadly missed by his Wife – Sheila D. (Hummer) Gillenwater, Montpelier, IN, Daughter – Stacy Monroe, Warren, IN, Son – Kenneth (companion, Dana) Gillenwater, Montpelier, IN, Daughter – Joni (Curt) Lyons, Portland, IN, Daughter – Kimberly Gillenwater, Muncie, IN, Daughter – Chea Davis, Montpelier, IN, Son – Tory Gillenwater, Kokomo, IN, Sister – Sandra (Mike) Chandler, Muncie, IN, Brother – David (Stacey) Gillenwater, Upland, IN, Grandchildren- Kolten Monroe, Paityn Chapman, Lillee Monroe, Lainee Monroe, Ariel Gillenwater, Paige Montgomery, Boston Lyons, Londyn Lyons, & Arrabella Rogers, and many Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Jonah E. Gillenwater, and Mother – Nancy Lou (Sanders) Gillenwater.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Tony’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 19, 2018 with Pastor Steve Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Montpelier.
