WABASH, INDIANA, August 8, 2017 — The Honeywell Foundation recently announced a public campaign to raise essential funding needed to establish and sustain new educational programs to be housed at the Eagles Theatre building following its renovation, which will begin early this fall.

The renovation, dubbed the Eagles Renovation Project, is the largest construction project to take place at the site since the historic vaudeville theatre first opened in 1906. The Eagles Renovation Project will rework and reimagine unused areas within the building, creating interactive classrooms for educational programs, a second movie theatre and rentable event spaces.

Educational programs will include vocal and instrumental courses, a multimedia arts program, and a partnership with the Heartland Career Center for high school students to earn college credits. These programs will foster art appreciation and education for regional residents and students, creating unique learning opportunities that are currently unavailable. Such enriching experiences will contribute to the larger Northeast Indiana initiative to grow and retain local talent in blossoming industries.

To launch and maintain these exciting endeavors, the Honeywell Foundation is turning to the public for support.

We are nearing the end of this amazing campaign. We have received so many humbling donations and grants. As we seek to close out the campaign, we hope that everyone joins the effort with a gift in support of Eagles,” said Cathy Gatchel, VP of Development and Marketing. “All donations made to the Eagles Renovation Project will help education and culture thrive in Northeast Indiana for years to come.”

Donors have the option to select a one-time or recurring monthly contribution. Additionally, exclusive naming opportunities and donor recognitions are available to donors of certain thresholds, including personalized nameplates in the renovated theatre and special event invitations. Thanks to a generous donation-matching grant, all first-time donors’ contributions will be matched on a two-to-one basis.
