WABASH,Indiana – Stitt Street between Comstock and Delaware in Wabash is closed at this housr due to utility poles and their respective lines being down in the road. It all started around 10 am this morning when the top of a concrete mixing truck became caught in the overhead lines as it pulled from Stitt onto Delaware Street. As the truck moved forward it pulled several polls to the ground near the intersection of Stitt and Falls Avenue. Most of the lines are not of the power variety and only one house in the area is without power, that according to County EMA Director Keith Walters. He added that the majority of the lines are phone and cable.

Duke Energy, Frontier, Cinergy and Comcast have all been on the scene. But Walters told MiBash News that the road will be closed for quite a while. One hour after the original incident, the concrete mixing truck was trying to unload its concrete so it can be extracted from the overhead lines. The Wabash City Police and the Wabash County EMA are on scene and have blocked off the effected portion of Stitt Street.
