Steven D. “Steve” Poor, 66, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 1:55 pm, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at his home. He was born on November 17, 1956, in Muncie, Indiana, to Carl Jr. and Elizabeth Ann (McCurry) Poor.
Steve married Lori Ann Doyle at their home in Wabash on March 7, 1991. He was a jack of all trades. Steve worked as a mechanic and farm hand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, old cars, model airplanes, hanging out with his baby brother David, spending time with his wife and boys, but especially enjoyed his grandbabies.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Ann Poor of Wabash; two sons, Josh (Olivia) Poor of Wabash, and Matthew (Kristi) Poor of Warsaw, Indiana; five grandchildren, Emma, Easton, and Carly Poor, Kilynn and Corbin Keene; brothers and sister, William (Nell) Alford of Marion, Indiana, Michael (Debbie) Poor of Arkansas, Carl (Jamie) Poor III of Ijamesville, Indiana, David (Doreen) Poor of Lagro, Indiana, and Tina Burton of Marion; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Mary Elizabeth Poor, two brothers, Victor Poor, and James Poor Sr., and his sister, Linda Quarry.
There will be a Celebration of Steve’s life at a later date. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
