Stephen D. Ford, 73, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 8:16 am, Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Parkview Wabash Hospital. He was born December 6, 1946 in Peru, Indiana to Basil Floyd and Marjorie B. (Trice) Ford.
Stephen was a 1964 graduate of Northfield High School and received his Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University in 1968. He married Deborah Proctor at the pavillion at the Salamonie Reservoir in Wabash County on September 24, 1988. He was an insurance agent at Beauchamp & McSpadden Insurance Agency more than 15 years. Stephen was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and attended Wabash First United Methodist Church in Wabash. He was a former member and past president of the Lagro Lions Club, and former member of the Wabash Rotary Club. Stephen enjoyed farming, eating, and spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Ford of Wabash, three children, Joseph (Paula) Ford of Timberville, Virginia, Dawn (Michael) McKown of Harrisburg, Nebraska, and Wes (Daphne Holycross) Banks of Roann, Indiana, five grandchildren, Suzanne Ford, Sharon Ford, and Stephen Ford, all of Timberville, Mike McKown of Omaha, Nebraska, and Megan Banks of Peru, Indiana, sisters and brother, Elaine Widdifield of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Keith (Pam) Ford of Wabash, Denise Sheetz of Warsaw, Indiana, and Rhonda (Dan) Carr of Wabash, sister-in-law, Tilly Ford of Roann. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Brian Lee Ford.
There will be a memorial service at the First United Methodist Church in Wabash at a later date. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
