Stanley Warne Rowland

Stanley Warne Rowland, 64, Marion, passed away in his home at 1:18 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  He was born in Sikeston, MO, on December 31, 1954, to the late Woodie and Betty (Crawford) Rowland and had spent a large portion of his life in California.  However, he was always drawn back home again in Indiana.

Stanley graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1973 and, on Valentine’s Day in 1976, married his sweetheart, Renita McCarter.  They had three sons, Bradley “Simon”, William “Billy”, and Joshua.  Stanley was skilled in autobody repair and mainly worked for himself throughout his life.  He always had a passion for cars, whether it was working on cars or driving fast (a race car driver).  He also enjoyed the many road trips he took with his wife and family over the years.

Some of his favorite hobbies included fishing, boating, racing, hunting, and billiards.  He especially enjoyed the time he could spend with his family, friends, and grandchildren.  Stanley was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He will be missed by his loving wife of almost 43 years, Renita; sons, Bradley “Simon” Rowland, Marion, William “Billy” Paul (Chasity Watson) Rowland, Marion, and Joshua Warne (Summer) Rowland, Marion; sister, Donna (Steve Butler) Bowland, Marion; brother, Jerry (Christina) Rowland, Marion; grandchildren, Gauge, Michael, Amanda, Daymon, Clayton, Mya, Xzavier, Warne, Shila, Emalee, and Jaydon; father-in-law, Jackie McCarter; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Mark Martin; and other numerous friends who are too many to list.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, William; mother-in-law, Shirley McCarter; and special friend, Rick Elliott.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Stanley from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Following the Celebration, there will be a dinner at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1465 E. Bradford St., Marion, IN.
