Catherine “Jackie” Jackson- Downam completed her assignment from God, and returned home to Heaven to be with the Lord and her beloved daughter Amy, at 5:00 PM on January 5th, 2019.
Jackie was born on July 28, 1946 to Art and Gertrude Jackson. She grew up in Eaton, Indiana and married Jasper Downam on February 4th, 2017.
Jackie loved to ride around town on her golf cart and never met a stranger. She was loving, kind, and compassionate to everyone she met. Volunteering was an important part of her life and she spent much of her time at the Lion’s Club and the Helping Hand doing just that. Jackie was also an avid crafter making scrapbooks and beautiful handmade cards for people. She was a dedicated and devoted mother who loved her children and family. Granny never let a day pass that she wasn’t reminding you how much you were loved. While we are rejoicing that she is in Heaven, she will be missed every day.
Jackie is survived by her husband Jasper, her children; Rod (Ronda) Lewis, Brad (Stephanie Lane) Lewis, Eric (Tiffany) Felver, and Ashley Felver. step-children: Brian (Jamie), Jasper Jr, Dustin, and Joshua Downam; Lucinda (Larry) Burns, and Shnowa (Robbie) McElwain. Grandchildren: Christanna (Cody) Gabbard; Jennifer Nose; Rodney (Heather) Lewis; Ashley (Cody) Bryce; Whitney (Crystal) Lewis; Caleb and Caiden Felver; Evie Tracy; Makila Pierce; Elijah, Deashea, Isaiah, and Brian Jr. Downam; Joseslyn and Maddox Wouster; Cory, Noah, and Briella Downam; Coltyn Downam, Britany (Jenna) Pash; Jasmin and Christian Downam; Keerston Poling; Toullie and Finnigan McElwain. Great Grandchildren: Alycea Hernandez, Alex Wladyka, and Silas Lewis. She was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by her parents, sisters, and daughter Amy.
There will be a celebration of Jackie’s life held on Saturday, January 12 from 2-5 at the Upland Lion’s Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: Hands of Hope 101 S. Washington St. Marion, IN 46952.
