Ruth “Jane” Miller, 82, of Warren, Indiana, formerly of rural Andrews, Indiana, died at 8:23 pm, Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Heritage Pointe in Warren. She was born on December 14, 1940, in Lexington, Kentucky, to James Edward and Margaret (Tyson) Botkin.
Jane was a 1960 graduate of Lancaster High School, Huntington County, Indiana. She married Gerald W. Miller in Mount Hope, Indiana on August 20, 1960. Jane worked as the kitchen supervisor at Sharp Creek Elementary School in Wabash, retiring after 17 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s County Line Church. Jane enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening, and canning.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald W. Miller of Warren; two sons, Greg (Lorri) Miller of Andrews, and Gary (Kim) Miller of Wabash, Indiana; four grandchildren, Maggi (Rich) Easterday of Peru, Indiana, Liza Miller of Andrews, Caleb (Jessica) Clark of Kokomo, Indiana, and Cassidy (Julian) Hobson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; five great grandchildren; and sisters and brother, Gail (Howard) Kem of LaFontaine, Indiana, Debbie (Jim) Wright of Scottsdale, Arizona, and James (Ruth) Botkin of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Troy Allen Miller who died in 1965; and her sister, Linda Evans.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. Paul’s County Line Church, 3995 N. 1000 W., Andrews, with Pastor Conrad Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call 3-7 pm Wednesday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, and one hour prior to the service, Thursday, at the church.
Preferred memorial is St. Paul’s County Line Church.
