Ruth Ellen Shepperd, 88, Marion, passed away at 11:13 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at York Place in Marion. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, August 17, 1933, to John B. and Katherine (Huffman) Moore. She married her loving husband, Ronald F. Shepperd, and he preceded her in death.
Ruth graduated from Marion High School. She began her work career at Indiana Bell and then Glass Container. Ruth loved to drink coffee, play Poker, and listen to music, especially Michael Buble songs. She also liked the Colts and Pacers.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Karen) Shepperd of Gas City; daughter, Pam (Matt) Fleenor of Gas City; grandsons, Ryan (Beth) Shepperd and Chris Fleenor; granddaughter, Melissa (Nick) Lottes; great-granddaughters, Deja Trejo, Bianca Trejo, Genevieve “Gigi” Stapleton, Lilly Lottes, Lakyn Lottes, and Josie Shepperd, and great-grandsons, Caden Shepperd and Jake Lottes.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Toby (the late Lila) Moore; granddaughter, Tiara Holland; and sister-in-law, Betty (Keith) Keim.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St. Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Ruth’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Randy Thornburg officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
