Ross Anderson, 80, Marion, passed away at 6:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home in Marion. He was born in Dorton, Kentucky, on Monday, January 4, 1943, to Charles and Ada (Osborne) Anderson. On November 2, 1963, he married Sandra “Cozy” Schrader, who survives.
Ross graduated from Gary High School before serving in the United States Army. Following his military service, Ross worked at and later retired as a Pipe Fitter with Chrysler in Kokomo.
Ross loved the Lord and enjoyed bussing the kids back and forth to church. He took pleasure in fishing, often taking trips to Minnesota and Canada. Ross soaked up as much time as he could with his kids and grandkids. He was known as a prankster; his wife and daughter were often on the receiving end of his so-called “jokes”. Ross will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Survivors include his brother, Doug (Josephine) Anderson of Wabash; sister, Yolanda (TJ) May of Cave City, KY; daughter, Angela (Charles) Casey of Senatobia, MS; son, James (Angela) Anderson of Kokomo; three grandsons, Michael (Grady) Casey of FL, Jacob (Shae) Anderson of VA, and Matthew Anderson of Kokomo; three granddaughters, Jessica Anderson of Kokomo, Rachel (Matt) Dellinger of MS, and Amanda Anderson of Kokomo; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ann Anderson.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Liberty Baptist Church, 517 Church St., Sweetser, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service with military honors to celebrate Ross’ life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating.
