Earl M. Babb, 91, Marion, passed away at 9:46 am on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion. He was born in Greenville, Kentucky, on Wednesday, November 25, 1931, to Herbert and Gladys (Hundley) Babb. On December 20, 1953, he married Barbara Jean Stone.
Earl served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he was an engineering tech for 42 years (1950-1992) with RCA (Thomson Consumer Electronics). He enjoyed fishing and boating with his family. He especially enjoyed his retirement, simply resting in his home after working hard for all those years.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Russell of Florida; son, Michael (Kathy) Babb of Gas City; brother, Chester Babb; grandsons, Gary Fisher, Jason Fisher, Jonathan Russell, Patrick Russell, Bryan Babb, and Michael Babb; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Jean Babb; daughters, Debra Peterson and Kay (Gerald) Fisher; brothers, Jim (Judy) Babb and Larry Babb; and sister, Mary Marshall.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Earl’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
