Rosemary Haynes

Rosemary Haynes, 93, of Marion, passed away at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. She was born in Fulton County, Indiana, on Friday, September 13, 1929, to Marion and Bertha (Joy) Fenstermaker.

Rosemary graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1947 where she was a cheerleader. She was baptized at St. Paul Catholic Church in Marion in 1987. She had worked as an executive manager for 26 years with Thompson Consumer Electronics (RCA) and had also worked for Dollar General, Marion General Hospital, Marion Moose Lodge, K Mart, Harwood Trucking and Hills Department Store. Over the years after high school, Rosemary attended Taylor University and Ball State University for continuing education and professional development courses. Rosemary was very involved in her community and children’s school activities including the PTA, band boosters, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and Marion Moose. She was also a Fashion Two Twenty cosmetic consultant. She had earned several awards and citations from the companies that she had worked for. Rosemary enjoyed knitting, working on the family home, crafting and home decorating. More than anything, Rosemary cherished spending time with family and seeing her family grow. She will be remembered as an outgoing, social butterfly who had several friends and a great sense of humor. She was a kind, yet feisty woman and a great storyteller who will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her daughters, Penny (John) Haynes Bundy of Anderson, Patty (Dale) Haynes Fath of Ft. Wayne, and Lynn (Gary Olynger) Haynes Smith of Gas City; son, Leland (Late Debbie) Haynes of Marion; granddaughters, Kristan (Malcolm) Warren, Phebe (Nick Fraga) Tolsdorf, Lauren Fath, Bevin Fath, and Kyla (Colin) Martin; grandsons, Jeff (Penny) Bell, Jacob Lee (Rian) Haynes, and David Bailey; great-grandchildren, Mac, Liam, Sage, Molly, Owen, Audra, Laney, Gavin, Kaitlynn, Claire, and Amelia; great-great-grandchildren, Felicity and Carter; good friends, Barbara Laughlin and Shirley Ball; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her father, Marion Fenstermaker; mother, Bertha Fenstermaker Poe; brother, Terry (Mary “Cookie”) Poe; first husband, Joe D. Haynes; her beloved dog, Buddy; and friends, Barbara Burgess and Eva Burgess.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Rosemary’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dan Van Cise officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion.
