Carl C. Sirk, Jr.

Carl C. Sirk, Jr., 76, Marion, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at his home in Marion. He was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on November 3, 1946, to Carl Sirk, Sr., and Marguerite (Hill) Arnold. On October 21, 1967, he married Margie Sluss, and she survives.  

Carl attended Northfield in Wabash and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was formerly a member of Wabash Chapel Church of God.

Carl was a handyman.  He worked in Paintsville, Kentucky, where he was a water and gas line repairman, retiring after almost 30 years.  He collected arrowheads and loved eagles, and he enjoyed fishing and camping.  He was also a sports fan and especially loved watching wrestling, football, and basketball.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Sirk; daughters, Tammy Sirk and Carla (Jimmy) Salyer; son, Steve (Desiree) Sirk; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Maggie Chaplin; brother, Robert Miller; and half-brother, Ricky Arnold.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lois Carr.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Temple Congregational Church, 1006 N. Western Ave., Marion, IN 46952.

A service to celebrate Carl’s life will take place at 9:30 am on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Temple Congregational Church.  Pastor Gary Brown will be officiating with burial following at Marion National Cemetery.
