Robert Lee Allen, North Manchester, Indiana passed at 7:35 p.m. on May 5, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. One of four children, Robert was born on October 23, 1952 in Wabash County, Indiana to Harold L. and Emma Lou (Meyer) Allen.
After graduating from Manchester High School in 1970, Robert began farming full time and was a volunteer firefighter with Jackson Township. Robert spent his entire career life working in the agriculture field. He worked for Montel Livestock/ Equipment for 7 years, Kennedy Repair Shop for 10 years and owned Allen Ag Transport for 10+ years. Robert also enjoyed working on old tractors and collecting toy versions of the tractors he worked on. When Robert wasn’t working on the farm, he enjoyed taking road trips with his son to different implement shops and dealers. He was a father that loved his children and dogs dearly.
The loving memory of Robert Lee Allen will be remembered by his son, Chad Allen, North Manchester; daughter, Amy Jo (Kelly Ross) Allen, Goshen; brother, Danny Joe (Willodean) Allen, North Manchester and sisters, Janice (Eddie) Wood, Claypool and Saundra Hoagland, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may call Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. A memorial service will begin at the conclusion of calling. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate.
