Robert J. (Joey) Zent, 51, Gas City, passed away at 6:43 am on Monday, August 29, 2022, in Gas City. He was born in Naples, Italy at the US Naval Hospital, on Friday, October 16, 1970, to Gary Zent and Jeannine (Bryant) Gwin.
Robert attended Mississinewa High School and attended college at the Indiana University Kokomo. Also, he attended Trade School at Ivy Tech.
He was a painter for the Marion Housing Authority. Robert absolutely loved outdoor activities like biking, hiking, camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He was a sports enthusiast and could share all kinds of stats. He was a big IU fan.
Survivors include his father, Gary (Monica) Zent of Fishers; mother, Jeannine (Patrick) Gwin of Gas City; daughters, Jasmine (John) Catalla, Alexis (Andruw) Weiss, Jade Zent, Jayci Zent; special friend, April Zent; grandsons, Neyland and Noah; granddaughter, Aurora; and grandmother, Oma Zent.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Robert Zent and Richard “Dick” Bryant.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Robert’s life will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark Hummel officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
