Dick was born in Logansport to the late Franklin S. and Juanita (Gibbs) Johnson. On May 28, 2018 he passed away in his Marion home.
He was a 1963 graduate of Logansport High School and moved to Marion in 1965. He married Mary L. Wilson on January 23, 1965. Mrs. Johnson preceded him in death on March 20, 2015.
Dick worked for Conrail as a supervisor and retired in 1986. Later he became an EMT and worked for Grant County EMS. In his free time he enjoyed taking care of his yard as well as helping others take care of theirs. He especially loved his family and spending time with them. Dick will be remembered for his kindness to all and cheerful personality.
He is survived by his five children, Dennis L. (Loraine) Johnson, David E. (Joann) Johnson, Forest L. (Lisa) Johnson, all of Marion; Paul A. (Chasity) Johnson, Swayzee; Marianne Johnson, Jonesboro; sister, Pat (James) Dunnuck, Peru; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
In accordance with Dick’s wishes there will be no public services. Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana was entrusted with arrangements.
