Barbara Jane Dailey

B. “Jane” (Wood) Dailey, 82, Marion, died at 5:37 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2018, at Marion General Hospital.  A lifelong resident of Marion, Jane was born on November 1, 1935, to the late Lloyd and Elizabeth (Hillsamer) Tegarden.  On June 16, 1956, she married her first husband, Jim Wood, who preceded her in death on October 4, 1980.  She is survived by her current husband, James D. Dailey.

 

Jane was a graduate of Marion High School and then retired as a Pathology Secretary at Marion General Hospital in 1991.  She attended St. Paul Catholic Church.  Jane loved her family and especially enjoyed keeping up with the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing computer games like Solitaire.  Jane loved sports and specifically was a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Pacers.

 

In addition to her husband, James D. Dailey, she is survived by her children, Nancy (Jim) Wise, Marion, Jeff (Tammy) Wood, Harrison, Tennessee, and Jim (Amy) Wood, Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren, Cari (Tom) Lootens, Marion, Tyler (Sarah) Wood, McCordsville, Chris (Jordan) Wood, Noblesville, Carly (Bobby) Gramse, Greenwood, A.J. Wood, Harrison, Tennessee, and Chloe Wood, Fishers; great-grandchildren, Jackson Emert, Marion, Alaina Jane Emert, Marion, Michael Wood, Noblesville, Aiden Wood, Harrison, Tennessee, Moses Wood, Noblesville, Mason Wood, McCordsville, and Brooks Gramse, Greenwood; sister, Bea McCuan, Texas; step-children, Terry (Roger) Wertenberger, Wabash, Tim (Debbie) Dailey, Marion, Jeff Dailey, Marion, Bridgett Grider, Marion, Fred (Beth) Dailey, Marion, and Peter (Nora) Dailey, Texas; and 17 step-grandchildren and 26 step-great-grandchildren.

 

Jane was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob Tegarden, John Tegarden, and Bill Tegarden; sister, Linda Clevenger; and step-daughter, Becky Dailey-Carlson.

 

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

 

Jane’s funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1031 Kem Rd., Marion, IN.  Father Richard Weisenberger will be officiating with burial following at Estates of Serenity.
