Regina C. Auler

Regina C. Auler, 74, Andrews, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She was born in Huntington, Indiana, on November 16, 1948, to Luther and Madline (Schiber) Hairrell.

Regina attended Bennett and Marion high schools. She attended and was baptized at Union Chapel Church. She was a member of ABATE, the Legion, and AMVETS. She was the Union Vice President at Foster-Forbes and very active in the union for multiple years. She worked several other jobs throughout her life in Grant and Huntington counties, including Dairy-O, the VA, Waylon’s, Sharon’s Restaurant, Fireplace Factory, One Stop, Save-on Liquor, Peace Pipe Bait and Tackle, and SNS Bait and Tackle. She enjoyed camping and fishing and was always wanting her husband to take her fishing. She also enjoyed bowling and had bowled on leagues over the years. Regina loved playing games, particularly Scrabble and UNO. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and always put family first. She loved rummaging, gardening, crafts, and also cooking for her family. No one left her house without advice, a full belly, and knowing they were loved. Regina loved to ride and had her own motorcycle. She was adventurous and lived life to the fullest. She was a no-nonsense woman who loved hard. She always had an open door for anyone and unconditional love for everyone.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Walter Auler; children, Nannette Burdette, Shane Auler, and Rob (Michelle) Sheppard; grandchildren, Sheena Burdette, Miles (Justine) Burdette, Matthew Auler, John Hueston, Jessie (Seth) Auler, Jessica (Louis) Zungia, Daniel (Kay) Graham, James (Claudia) Sheppard, Ashley Whisman, Emily Whisman, Harley Auler, Makayla Ball, and Becca Banks; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia Jessmon, Marcia Adkins, and Rosalie Tutt; sister-in-law, Judy Hairrell; and very special friends, Becky (Charlie) Rhum and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Christopher Auler, David Auler, and Steven Rivard; brothers, Larry Hairrell and David Hairrell; and sister, Rosemary Hairrell.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

A funeral service to celebrate Regina’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at North Chapel with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will take place at Center Grove Cemetery in Wabash. Following the committal at the cemetery, the family would like to invite friends to a dinner at the AMVETS Post 5, 705 W. 37th St., Marion, IN 46953.
