PERU, Ind. – The Peru Police Department welcomed new officer Lucas LaBare who began his first day of employment on Friday with the department. He was sworn in by Peru Clerk-Treasurer Tish Soldi. Lucas will begin training on Monday, December 4th. He will attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 2018, where he will receive 15 weeks of training. He will also receive 14 weeks of on-the-job training with fellow Peru Police Officers. Lucas is a 2012 graduate of Peru High School.
