Peggy Ann Dakin, 71, Marion, passed away at 8:34 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Marion Health. She was born in Anderson, Indiana, on Saturday, May 19, 1951, to Francis and Opal (Disbennett) Morgan. On June 29, 1987, she married Andrew Grant Dakin, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2013.
Peggy attended Alexandria High School and was a deli clerk at Meijer. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 10, Amvets Post 5, 8, and 40, and Eagles. Peggy was an avid book reader, and she enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include her sons, Grant (late Shannon) Dakin of Oak Ridge, TN, and Graham Dakin of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Teresa Hacker of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Lauren Dakin, Valerie Nixon, and Emma Hacker; sisters, Cathy Kraus, Lori (Kristopher) Linton, Susan Clasby, Sharon (Larry) Buckler, and Cindy (Bob) Chambers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronald Morgan and Max Morgan; and sister, Christy Bartlett.
A graveside service to celebrate Peggy’s life will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Marion National Cemetery with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow.
