North Manchester Police Department Summer Impaired Driving Enforcement Project June 2017 Results

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Chief Jim Kirk of the North Manchester Police Department announced today that during the month of June 4 officers from the North Manchester Police Department worked a total of 189 hours of the federally funded overtime Summer Impaired Driving Enforcement Project. This is an enforcement project that pays officers to work during their off duty time and is funded by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute which targets impaired drivers. During the June enforcement patrols stopped 283 vehicles which resulted in 31 arrests for the following: 5 misdemeanor DUI arrests, 1 felony DUI arrest, 1 felony habitual traffic violator, 2 driving while suspended with prior, 18 criminal misdemeanors and 4 criminal felonies. The North Manchester Police Department also issued 268 warnings for various traffic related violations.
