Norma L. (Griffin) Hopkins

Norma L. (Griffin) Hopkins, 83, Huntington, passed away at 10:30 pm on Friday, May 6, 2022, surrounded by loved ones in her home. She was born Norma Louise Griffin on Saturday, December 17, 1938, to Harold Griffin and Beulah Lucille (Spencer) Griffin. She was one of eight children. Norma was raised in Jonesboro and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Gas City. She moved to Huntington in 1989 prior to marrying Clifford Hopkins. Norma retired from Foster-Forbes in Marion after 33 years.

Norma’s hobbies included gardening, sewing, motorcycle riding, camping, playing Solitaire on her computer, and, most importantly, get-togethers with her family.

Norma and Cliff were members of ABATE, as well as The Goldwing Association, and they traveled all over the country by bike. She never missed a birthday or anniversary of those she loved! Cards were always sent and never late!

Surviving relatives are her daughters, Roma “Sue” (Ron Knight) Noffsinger of Shelbyville, IN, Rona Jean “Jeannie” Gordon of Marion, IN, Regina (Troy) Curry of Huntington, IN, and Angela Hopkins of LaFontaine, IN; special daughter-in-law, Sheila K. (Gordon) Brockhaus; sons, Clifford Hopkins of Fayetteville, NC, Randy Hopkins of Greenfield, IN, and Mike (Stephanie) Hopkins of South Bend, IN, and Clifford A. Hopkins of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Ruth (Griffin) Mansbarger; 32 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Hopkins; sons, Darrell L. Gordon and Richard A. Gordon, Sr., of Huntington, IN; and daughters, Virginia A. (Gordon) Collins of Jonesboro, IN, and Nora L. (Gordon) Becraft of Marion, IN.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Norma’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Morris officiating. Entombment will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
