WABASH, Ind. – On June 30th of 2016, leaders from Parkview Health broke ground on a new $35 million hospital in Wabash. The two-story, 80,000 square foot Parkview Wabash Hospital will also include an attached 31,000 square foot medical office building that will be home to Parkview Physicians Group. The new Parkview Wabash Hospital will sit on a 38 acre plot off John Kissinger Dr. just south of US 24.

With the mild weather this fall, the building project remains on target for the construction of the new hospital. The foundations have been constructed and concrete block bearing walls have been built on the foundations with John Kissinger Drive at grade on the east and west sides. The construction of the underground storm water drainage system has also begun.

The main drives on the west side of the property and the parking lots in the front of the hospital have been completed. The steel frame of the new facility is now going up.

“We look forward to the completion of the steelwork early in 2017 and will be holding a “Topping Out” ceremony for placement of the final beam in January or February,” said Marilyn Custer-Mitchell, president, Parkview Wabash Hospital. “We anticipate the completion of the new hospital in April of 2018.”
