Miami County Economic Development Authority to host Second Public Meeting for a Joint Land Use Study for Grissom Air Reserve Base

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – The Miami County Economic Development Authority (MCEDA) will host its second public meeting for a Joint Land Use Study for Grissom Air Reserve Base (ARB) on October 10th from 5:30PM until 7:00PM at the Milestone Event Center located at 1458 Liberator Road in the Grissom Aeroplex. The public is welcome and all are encouraged to attend and to participate. MCEDA and its consulting team will present initial project findings and stakeholder input, draft land use conflict and compatibility analyses, and results of the public survey conducted this summer. The Joint Land Use Study is an ongoing cooperative planning effort between Grissom ARB and the counties of Cass, Howard, Miami, and Wabash, other local governments in the vicinity of the air base, and other local stakeholders. The objective of the study is to encourage and enhance compatibility between the Air Force mission at Grissom ARB and lands surrounding the installation. The study also will address Air Force coordination, the economic impacts of Grissom ARB on the region, and means of preserving the mission and compatibilities at the installation over the planning horizon.
