Meghan Grace Freer

 

Meghan Grace Freer, 21, Alexandria, passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Community Hospital in Anderson.  She was born in Indianapolis on October 8, 1996, to Keith and Shawnda (Cain) Freer and was a junior at Taylor University majoring in Christian Ministries and Spanish.

While attending Taylor University, Meghan worked part-time at Joe On-the-Go Coffee Shop in Upland.  She was actively involved at Upland Community Church, where she was a member and served on the Missions Board.  Although Meghan lived only 21 years, she already had numerous experiences that most people would have in a lifetime.  She had traveled to Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador and had also participated in “Behold the Lamb” Passion Play.  Meghan also loved playing intramural soccer and will be remembered for how much she truly loved people.

She is survived by many friends and family which include her parents, Keith (Shawnda) Freer, Alexandria; brother, Andrew Freer, Alexandria; paternal grandmother, Martha Freer, Richmond; maternal grandparents, Steve (Linda) Cain, Sweetser; aunts and uncles, Robert (Tina) Croft, Herndon, Virginia, Scott (Jody) Freer, Ashland, Ohio; Mark (Robin) Freer, St. Mary’s, Ohio, and Kevin (Nichelle) Freer, Camby; and cousins, Hannah and Sarah Croft, Herndon, Virginia, Zach (Julie) Freer, Orient, Ohio, Ben (Sarah) Freer, Ashland, Ohio, Dan Freer, Fort Wayne, Laura Freer, St. Mary’s, Ohio, Catherine (C.J.) Fox, Mooresville, Jeanie Freer, Camby, Grace Freer, Mooresville, and Paul Freer, Mooresville.

Her paternal grandfather, George Freer, preceded her in death.

The family will receive visitors from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Services to celebrate Meghan’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Upland Community Church, 439 W. Berry Ave., Upland, IN.  Pastor Mark Biehl will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory, Marion.

The family would prefer that no flowers or gifts be sent but, rather, donations be made in memory of Meghan and made payable to Upland Community Church, 439 W. Berry Ave., Upland, IN 46989.
