Mary Ellen Salinas, 66, of Marion, passed away in her home at 1:38 pm on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, on Saturday, December 21, 1957, to Edward Hartley and Patricia Ann (Smith) Papp.
Mary graduated from Rogers High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. During her time in the service, she completed her degree to become an LPN. After her honorable discharge, she served others until she could no longer do so physically. Despite her own adversity, Mary gave anything to anybody. She was loving, selfless, a friend to anyone, and an overall wonderful human being. She loved to travel and see the world, and her favorite music artist was Whitney Houston. Mary attended Living Water Apostolic Church in Marion.
Loved ones who survive Mary include her children, Rodolfo (Liza) Salinas of Ada, MI, Rosalind Eve (Desmond) Salinas of Evansville, IN, Randall L. Salinas of San Diego, CA, and Patricia (Jason) Rea of AZ; brothers, Edward Papp of FL, Michael (Nancy) Papp of FL, Paul Papp of Michigan City, IN, and James “Jimmy” Papp of IN; grandchildren, Christian, Thomas, Nienah, Tristan, and Leighla; great-granddaughter, Maila; and best friends, Linda, Mark, Anthony, Capri, and Romon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kathleen Osenkarski; and brother, Ron Logan.
