Martha June Riddle, June to all who knew her, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Dessie McKinney; younger sister, Mary Bell Nelson; and granddaughter, Sharice Bilbee. She is survived by the love of her life, Jeff Epperson; six children: daughter, Jeri (Ross) Alcorn; son, Floyd (Rozanne) Bilbee; son, Troy (Sherry) Bilbee; daughter, Mary Bartrum; daughter, Brandy (Stewart) Bilbee; and son, John Riddle; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
June found joy in the simple things and had a kind word for everyone she met. She enjoyed sitting in her yard swing, watching the birds, and working in the flower gardens she and Jeff designed and planted. She saw usefulness in everything and would create garden treasures out of what others would consider trash. Her yard became an oasis of peace for everyone who visited, as well as a place for all creatures great and small to come for a meal. Her beautiful gardens, and her calming presence, were a balm to the soul. She spoiled her family and her cats, and both will miss her immensely.
To everyone who misses her dearly, every time you see a flower, or a bird sings you a tune, know that she has sent you a gift. A gentle reminder to stop and focus on the small and beautiful things and know you will always have her with you, no matter what.
At Martha’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
